RAM Construction was the successful low bidder on the Florida Department of Transportation project to restore the bridge deck on the Maitland Blvd bridge over Orlando Ave in Maitland Florida. The project involved repairing deteriorated concrete, epoxy crack injection, Epoxy bridge deck overlay, milling and paving of the approaches leading to the bridge, and new thermoplastic pavement markings. Due to the proximity of the I-4 freeway expansion and our project, there was limited shifts that detours could be utilized. In order to safely maintain traffic at all times temporary lane separators were utilized as traffic merged together in the middle of the bridge deck. With a focus on the safety of the traveling public, RAM and Orlando Paving Company worked together to review the site conditions and the traffic restriction requirements so that work operations could occur at the same time thus greatly reducing the amount of work that occurred within close proximity to live traffic, allowing for a much safer work environment for all personnel associated with the project.
