After sitting vacant for nearly a decade, RAM Construction has partnered with Christman to begin the vast restoration of the gorgeously ornate Old Wayne County Building. The granite and limestone building has become severely stained and deteriorated since its original construction in 1902.
In the spring of 2017, two separate crews of extremely skilled masons and laborers have begun the task of restoring the structure; one crew has been working at the various exterior façade walls replacing damaged limestone and granite units, repointing various failed mortar joints, and cleaning the delicate façade surface. The second crew has been repairing the deteriorated historic brick parapet and replacing ornate limestone at the perimeters of the roofline. We anticipate construction to be complete at the end of 2017.
RAM Construction Services is proud to play a role in the revitalization of Detroit.
