University of Michigan Ross School of Business gets a face lift and a new addition. The existing building was renovated with a new exterior façade and the new facility was constructed including an academic building hosting six floors, nine classrooms, three flat classroom spaces, a career service center and areas for operations. Located in downtown Ann Arbor on campus, this facility is open 24 hours a day with a hotel for the students of the business school. An atrium was also built to provide open area meeting spaces for the students
This project was completed while classes were in session and students we’re utilizing the existing hotel. Scheduling was a challenge as all construction was coordinated around class schedules and certain work was not available for completion until after 9:00 pm. With students attending classes, safety was of utmost importance, noise needed to be kept to a minimum and there was no room for equipment or storage boxes. All deliveries were scheduled for the day of installation only. These renovations have provided the campus with more functionality which better serves the student and staff of the university.
