RAM was selected to perform the shotcrete and waterproofing system on the restoration of SR 2047 - Center St. over the Flaugherty Creek in Meyersdale, PA. The single arch span bridge was originally built in 1914 and has been in services for over 100 years. Temporary arch bracing and support system was constructed and the existing deck, backfill, sidewalk, railings and spandrel walls were removed one half at a time by the Prime Contractor. Once all removal was completed, the original arch extrados was revealed, and the spandrel walls were reconstructed. RAM applied 2 inches of shotcrete to areas of the arch extrados and the interior face of the spandrel wall to provide a sound and uniform surface. RAM then prepared all surfaces and applied a 120 mil Spray Applied Elastomer Waterproofing Membrane system to the entire arch extrados and spandrel walls. The system consisted of three parts; a primer, 80 mil base coat and 40 mil top coat all applied by hydraulic proportioning equipment.
