Located about an hour northwest of Minneapolis and sitting along the Mississippi River, St. Cloud State University is one of the largest public universities in the state of Minnesota with over 14,000 students. Founded in 1869, the University is one of the states oldest and has grown to hold over 200 major and minor programs and 18 NCAA Division I and II teams. St Cloud State University is working to grow the future generations through academics and athletics while also providing experiences that will last a life time.
The tunnel repairs at St Cloud State University provided a unique opportunity for the team because this project incorporated both the restoration and new work departments to come together and put this project together. The tunnel is used as a utility service tunnel that serves multiple buildings on the main campus. The tunnel served as a challenge because of the tight space within the tunnel but the team was able to overcome the cramped spaces to do a great job patching the concrete repairs within the tunnel. The foreman Bruce Fleming did a great job managing all of the different moving parts this project had, and Ernesto Rubio did a great job after coming over to help out with the waterproofing on the tunnel. With the whole team coming together to help put this project together it turned out to be very successful and showed great team work from both sides of the organization on every level.
